BIOGRAPHY
Grant Claytor is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from New Jersey.
Within his solo career he has released two studio albums titled “Thank You for Shopping with Me” (2019), and “CAPRICE” (2020) with the third record “Reasonably Honest” set to release mid 2025. His music is self-produced and recorded in his home with inspirations drawn from 1960’s American surf rock and pop, 1980’s Japanese pop, and experimentation in retro recording techniques.
The upcoming album “Reasonably Honest” explores a new sonic direction and introspective lyrical storytelling — a divergence from the previously sunny pop sound he demonstrated in “CAPRICE”. The recording of the album took place between 2022-2024 emphasizing live instrumentation and was recorded in three different studio environments to accomplish the album’s sonic voice. Much of this record depicts personal experiences and struggles, either shrouding them in metaphor or plainly expressed. The title, pulled from the album track ‘Losing’, is an oxymoronic self-proclamation of someone who realizes they fell short on living up to their word.
The last single of this record, “Having Met” will be released April 11th of this year.
In 2025 Claytor will tour this record and continue production projects with his cohorts.
